Monte Cecilia Park

72 Hillsborough Road, Hillsborough, Auckland 1042

Monte Cecilia Park in Auckland is a historic, 15-hectare park featuring the grand Pah Homestead, expansive lawns, exotic trees (like giant figs and hoop pines), walking paths, and scenic views of Maungakiekie and the Manukau Harbour, offering a mix of English estate charm, Māori heritage (as Whataroa Pa), art spaces, and natural beauty with playgrounds and café facilities
Kids BMX Track

Underwood Park 164 Richardson Road, Mount Roskill

Located at the banks of the awa/creek in the Underwood Park area, this a great spot to take pre-schoolers during term time (while the big kids are at school) or for the bigger kids to go and get some practice on a BMX track, this is a bit of a hidden treasure.
Roskill South Oasis Hub

Auckland 1041

Healthy Lives and Thriving Communities in Roskill South. Our Hub exists to awhi the community of Roskill South and Waikōwhai to create safe, welcoming spaces of connection, belonging and growth.

We do this through collaboration, community-led activities and quality programmes that support the whole whanau to thrive.
Te Auaunga Oakley Creek

Sandringham Road, Wesley, Auckland 1041 Walmsley Park

This walkway runs alongside Great North Road, and is part of Te Auaunga, one of Auckland's longest urban streams flowing from Hillsborough to the Waitematā Harbour. Pedestrian access is from Great North Road, through Phyliss Reserve and through the Unitec Campus
Puketāpapa Local Board Office

560 Mount Albert Road, Three Kings, Auckland 1042

The Puketāpapa Local Board borders the Manukau Harbour and includes the suburbs of Three Kings, Hillsborough, Waikowhai, Lynfield and Wesley.
Waikōwhai Park Beach

Waikōwhai Park, 8 Waikowhai Rd, Hillsborough, Auckland

Waikowhai Park (kōwhai by the water) is the jewel in a network of parks on the northern banks of the Manukau Harbour.

This park is a significant ecological area. The large block of regenerating forest is home to lots of wildlife. It acts as both a linkage and a buffer between the coast and adjacent residential areas. A good network of navigable paths link the playground, lookout and dog walking area.
Keith Hay Park

Keith Hay Park 63 Arundel St,
Mount Roskill, Auckland

Named after Keith Hay an ex-mayor of the Mt Roskill Borough Council, this is one of our largest and most used parks. A good network of accessible paths connect many parts of the community.

Access the main car park from Arundel Street and the two smaller car parks from Rainford Street and Noton Road.

The main playground, accessible toilets and a basketball half court are in the middle of the park by the Arundel Street entrance.
Freeland Reserve

41A Freeland Avenue, Mount Roskill, Auckland 1041

This is a pretty reserve tucked away amongst residential properties. Wide paths throughout the reserve connect the neighbourhood, and provide a safe route for the local children to walk to May Road Primary School.
The large number of plants and trees along the edge of the pond and around the reserve have created a great habitat for wildlife (particularly pūkeko and ducks) and improved the stormwater quality downstream. You can get good views of the pond and wildlife from the lookout platform.
Turners Reserve

1-5 Glynn Street, Mount Roskill, Auckland 1041

Turner Reserve in Mt Roskill is a popular local park featuring a fantastic playground with a flying fox, eagle's nest, and climbing gear, plus a dedicated children's bike path (beginner-friendly concrete) and basketball hoops, with a separate, more challenging pump track and flat riding path for kids on school grounds nearby (May Road School).

It's a great community spot with native plantings, a mural, fruit trees, drinking fountains, and is accessible from May Road, Glynn Street, and Freeland Avenue, known for family fun and skill-building on bikes and scooters.
